Piano Lessons
Fun and engaging lessons for children, teens, and adults -- ages 5 and up!
I offer a comprehensive music education which involves learning how to read music, play with expression and proper technique, understand music theory, play by chords, and improvise. I have over 13 years of experience as a piano teacher and many more years of working full time with children in other capacities such as a nanny, special education paraprofessional, and childcare site director.
Music Theory Lessons
When I teach piano lessons, teaching music theory is integral to my approach. However, if you play a different instrument and aren't interested in piano lessons, but would like to understand the music theory behind the pieces you are playing, I'd be happy to help! I thoroughly enjoy talking about all the details in music theory, and love it when my students ask "how" and "why" questions about how music works!
Events
I enjoy playing for events, including accompanying vocalists and instrumentalists, as often as my schedule allows. I’ve performed at weddings, funerals, parties, and other special occasions. I also have plenty of experience accompanying soloists and ensembles. At the age of 14, I started demonstrating pianos in a shopping mall. Even since then, I've loved providing background music for people’s everyday lives, whatever the occasion!
